Shanghai hosts forum on AI and human intelligence in education

Focusing on the theme of artificial intelligence and human intelligence, experts gathered to discuss the transformation of science classrooms and personalized learning in primary and middle schools at a forum in Shanghai on Tuesday.

At the 11th Science Education Forum of Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, experts emphasized that science education is crucial for cultivating innovative talent. They said the deep integration of AI and human intelligence is injecting new momentum into science education in the modern era.

The event brought together over 400 school principals, frontline teachers, educational researchers, and university experts from across the country. They engaged in in-depth discussions on the profound changes occurring in classrooms and the development of personalized learning.

Representatives from the academy, the United Nations Development Programme, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization attended the opening ceremony.

On the same day, a forum on AI empowering the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent was held at the Shanghai Grand Zero Bay by the university. The event brought together presidents and representatives from more than 40 top universities worldwide. Through keynote speeches and in-depth dialogues, the participants discussed educational transformation, technological advancement, and talent development in the AI era.

The event also announced the launch of the "SJTU AI week", which is held every April to bridge the fields of education, technology, and industry, creating a platform for cross-disciplinary exchange and innovation.
