Pony.ai launches robotaxi service in Singapore
Autonomous driving companies Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro jointly launched their robotaxi passenger service in Singapore on Tuesday, bringing autonomous driving services to the Punggol area.
The development is a milestone in Pony.ai's expansion into international markets, according to the company.
At its 2025 financial performance meeting, the Guangzhou-based Pony.ai announced plans to deploy a fleet of over 3,000 robotaxis in more than 20 cities this year, with nearly half of these cities located abroad. The company says it is working closely with local partners and regulatory bodies to transition its international operations from pilot projects to commercial application.
"Partnering with ComfortDelGro to launch passenger services marks a solid step forward for our Robotaxi fleet in Singapore," said James Peng, founder and CEO of Pony.ai.
Pony.ai signed a strategic partnership with ComfortDelGro, Singapore's largest transport operator, in September last year. The robotaxi service will cover a 12-kilometer route in Punggol that connects the two residential areas of Punggol Northshore and Waterway Sunrise.
