Giant ink slab applies for Guinness World Record

Collector Zhang Jingting from North China's Hebei province shows a giant inkstone on Dec 2, 2014. The oval inkstone is about six meters long and weighs about 18 tons. It is engraved with 56 dragons of varying sizes and postures, which are interwaven with the Great Wall on it. Zhang has planned to apply for the Guinness Book of World Records. For serious calligraphers and painters, the quality of the inkstone is just as important as the quality of the ink that is ground inside of it, as the inkstone can affect the ink's texture.
