Top 10 richest Chinese cities in 2015

(chinadaily.com.cn/china.org.cn) Updated: 2016-01-21 07:07

Large cities don't necessarily mean wealth and wellbeing. Smaller cities may give you a better life.

According to the latest ranking released by China Economic Net, a large economic news portal, Dongguan, one of the four most vibrant cities of Guangdong province, tops the list of the 20 richest Chinese cities.

The city is followed by Xinjiang's Karamay and Jiangsu's Suzhou. Meanwhile, large cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen didn't make it onto the list.

Instead of measuring the economic aggregates of cities, the list is based on their GDP per capita, living standards and the happiness quotient of local people.

Let's take a look at some of the richest Chinese cities in 2015.
