Shanghai, the birthplace of China's juvenile prosecution system, marked the 40th anniversary of the system's establishment with the opening of a youth art exhibition on Sunday.

The event, which showcases the creativity and perspectives of young people, highlights the city's commitment to juvenile justice over the past four decades.

The exhibition had received nearly 2,000 submissions from across the city, with more than 110 outstanding pieces selected for display. These works vividly reflect the youth's understanding of the rule of law, personal growth, and their visions for the future.

Officials from the city-level and Jing'an district prosecution departments attended the opening ceremony, where award-winning students shared the inspirations behind their creations.

Shanghai's juvenile prosecution efforts have been dedicated to safeguarding the legal rights of minors through high-quality and efficient case handling. The initiative aims to foster collaboration among families, schools, society, the internet, government, and the judiciary department to build a robust legal framework that supports the healthy development of young people, the officials said.
