Several BRICS countries will conduct joint maritime military exercises in the territorial waters and airspace near Simon's Town, South Africa, from early to mid-January, the Ministry of National Defense announced on Friday.

China, Russia, South Africa, and other BRICS nations will participate in the joint drills, which will focus on anti-terrorism, naval strikes, technical exchanges, and naval vessel tours.

The ministry stated in a media release that the joint military drills aim to deepen military cooperation among the participating countries and enhance their capabilities to counter naval threats.
