Parts of the flood-damaged road network in Beijing were cleared on Wednesday, with traffic gradually returning to normal in areas hit by the recent torrential rains, according to the city's transport commission.

As of Wednesday, 65 road sections had suffered water damage, 30 in Miyun district, 22 in Huairou, two in Yanqing, and 11 in Pinggu. Of these, 37 sections have reopened, while 28 remain under repair, according to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport.

The commission has deployed 1,807 emergency personnel and 563 pieces of equipment for road repair operations. An additional 1,541 personnel and 723 vehicles have been mobilized to inspect and monitor mountain roads for potential geological hazards.
