High-speed trains add 79 new meal options

Altogether 79 new meal options, including cold dishes, hot dishes, and bakery food, have been added on the menu list for travelers on the high-speed trains in the Yangtze River Delta region since July 1, the China Railway Shanghai Group Co Ltd said.
Highlights include playful, nutrition-balanced children's set meals to respond to rising family travel demand during the summer holiday.
Among all the new options, 10 are light-meal sets, featuring grains, vitamin-rich vegetables and fruits, high-quality protein from meat and eggs, and soybeans and nuts. Each set is a combination of no less than six ingredients.
The high-speed train operator said that passengers can order the food by scanning seat side QR codes or directly go to the dining car.
"We will continue to collect passenger feedback and dynamically optimize meal options and supply models," said Yuan Chao, manager of the catering business department of Shanghai Huatie Passenger Service Co Ltd, which is affiliated with the China Railway Shanghai Group Co Ltd.
