More efforts for peaceful, integrated development of cross-Straits relations
BEIJING -- A Chinese mainland official said more efforts will be made to promote the peaceful and integrated development of cross-Straits relations.
Zhang Zhijun, president of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS), made the remarks in a New Year's message carried in the first issue of the magazine "Relations Across Taiwan Straits" in 2022.
The association has been upholding the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus in the past year, Zhang said, adding it made every effort to help compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits solve the problems and difficulties.
Zhang noted the ARATS made efforts to unite with Taiwan compatriots to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the Straits and played a positive role in maintaining the momentum of cross-Straits exchanges and cooperation with various forms of interactions.
The association will make positive contributions to promoting the peaceful and integrated development of cross-Straits relations and national reunification, Zhang noted.
