AMSTERDAM?- The Dutch national police corps says its top official at the European police intelligence agency Europol has resigned amid an investigation into alleged nepotism.

Europol spokesman Soren Pedersen confirms Tom Driessen, the agency's deputy director, has resigned.

Dutch police spokesman Dennis Janus said Wednesday that Driessen had been under investigation since last year by a European anti-fraud agency for allegedly leaking Europol's job application test questions to a Dutch colleague. Janus said both men have been removed from leadership positions but retain jobs with the Dutch police.

Europol helps national police forces cooperate on international organized crime investigations.
