INK paints a new picture of China-US collaboration at the Expo

Fast moving, abstract, technically challenging, and substantial in size, INK, a modern dance program created and brought to life by Aly Rose of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, represents the combined talents of 25 American and Chinese choreographers and dancers.

This is a first time China- US collaboration with modern dance for a large scale national event in China's history. Rose's production capped off the Shanghai World Expo Music Festival. But earning their place in the spotlight was no easy feat. The dancers endured three weeks of 10-hour days training, practicing, and preparing for their show.

INK's purpose is to not only transcend cultural and national boundaries through bringing diverse voices and movement together, but also to build bridges through the common language of dance.

Background: Ink is conceived, produced, and directed by Aly Rose of Tisch School of the Arts, NYU.
