China's family-planning policy may have reduced the country’s population growth by 400 million in the past four decades, a spokesman for the National Health and Family Planning Commission said on Monday.
Mao Qun’an said that if not for the family-planning policy, China’s current population would be 1.7 billion to 1.8 billion, Xinhua News Agency reported.
