Shanxi province has a total of 11 enterprises that have made the Top 500 Chinese enterprises list, compiled by the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) and China Enterprise Directors Association, for this year, which appeared on Aug 31.
One of the top members is the Shanxi Coal Transportation and Sales Group, with proceeds of 185 billion yuan, which is up four slots from the previous year, while the other 10 are the Shanxi Coal Transportation and Sales Group, Shanxi Coking Coal Group, Yangquan Coal Industry (Group), Lu’an Group, Datong Coal Mine Group, Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group, Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group, Shanxi Coal IMP & EXP Group, Daqin Railway Co, Shanxi Provincial Guoxin Energy Development Group, and the Shanxi Construction Engineering (Group) Corp.
The threshold for membership this year was raised to 19.867 billion yuan ($3.2 billion), up 13.48 percent, with the Sinopec Group still up on top for nine years running and with total revenues of 2.83 trillion yuan, followed by the China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), at 2.68 trillion yuan, and the State Grid Corp, with 1.88 trillion yuan.
