Student tries to bicycle home on expressway

A university student surnamed Hu who was riding his bicycle on a busy expressway was stopped by police on Thursday.

Traffic police detained the student as he tried to bicycle home on the Lianhuo Expressway in Henan province.

After Hu was lectured, police gave him 200 yuan ($30) to buy a bus ticket to his hometown in Luoyang.

Hu, who is from a poor farmer's family, said he wanted to save money.
