Homemade cars outpace the ordinary

(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2014-10-31 09:29

It is illegal to drive homemade vehicles on the road in China. Still, this doesn’t stop car lovers from creating their own models, some of which can be quirky and creative.

Homemade cars outpace the ordinary
Carpenter Liu Fulong drives a wooden electric vehicle he designed and built in Shenyang, Liaoning province, on Thursday. The 1.6-meter-long car weighs more than 200 kilograms. The car can drive for 20 km at a maximum speed of 30 km/h with a full charge of electricity. Liu, 48, has worked in carpentry for 30 years. [Photo/Asianewsphoto]
