Diploma scandal must stop

chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2013-07-08 17:34

Several universities face allegations of not giving students their diplomas until an employment contract has been submitted, according to a column in Huashang Weekly (excerpts below).

Graduating students face enough pressure trying to get work without the added pressure of unscrupulous institutes holding back diplomas.

To make matters worse, many students had to sign false employment contracts so that the institutes can say all their diploma graduates found work.

This is absurd and disgusting. The institutes have broken the regulations, and it is time for responsible government agencies to perform their duty.
