This year' Routes Asia conference came to a close on March 17 in Kunming, in southwest China' Yunnan province, with almost 1,800 delegates in attendance.

To better present Yunnan' local ethnic culture, Yunnan Intangible Cultural Heritage exhibitions an ethnic dance show were on show during the event, attracting the attention of many delegates.

From gourd carving to nut carving, craftsmen’s skills attracted the visitors to stop-by.

According to Xu Guoxiao, a man who has been carving artwork for 20 years, it takes on average 15 days to finish a carving work.

" I hope that through the exhibition, foreigners can get a better understanding of Yunnan' culture,"said Xu.

As a long-time nut carver with for more than 15 years' experience, Zhang Shengxiang takes only 20 minutes to carve a nut artwork.
