Residents of Pinglu county in Shanxi province and Sanmenxia city in Henan province will no longer have to switch buses to travel to either destination as 24 new intercity buses were launched on March 30.
The direct bus transit will greatly help locals who had to change buses three or four times over the 10-kilometer route between Pinglu and Sanmenxia.
The expanded public transport network will help advance connections between Pinglu and Sanmenxia, which are separated by the Yellow River.
In addition, the Sanmenxia road-rail bridge over the Yellow River will further upgrade public transport between the two regions when it comes into service.
