The Shanxi Minsheng Pension Service Industry Research Institute was approved by the provincial civil affairs department and recently began operations. It's the first private pension service research institute in China and involves more than 100 experts from social science, medical, cultural and business fields.
The institute will engage in analyzing and predicting population aging development and collecting basic pension service information to build an information system. It will also provide policy consultation and theoretical guidance for Shanxi to make major pension service decisions and strategies.
The institute will also study and review pension service scientific research and construction projects sponsored by the Shanxi government. It will train workers in the pension service industry and manage government-funded pension service projects.
