The China Nanyang (Zhenping) International Jade Carving Festival, a typical national cultural festival lasting six days, has been celebrated once a year since 1993. Major activities involved in this festival include art performances, seminars on China's jade culture, jade carving exhibitions, assessment and auctions, elections at expiration of office term of the National Gem and Jade Association, negotiations in economy and trade, and investment invitation.
