This is a famous traditional Fuzhou snack with a several-hundred-year history, that is usually served around the household during the Spring Festival in Fujian province.

Lin Mengqiu, the owner of a Congroubing shop on Yangzhong Rd in Fuzhou, explained the process of making Congroubing, which includes grinding up some rice, kneading dough, and selecting the pork. She says that it usually takes around 15 minutes to cook the Congroubing and the amount of ingredients and seasonings determines the taste. It looks like a steamed bun with white sesame seed on top and is usually cut in half when served.
