Row over child samba queen
A row has erupted in Rio de Janeiro over a decision to make 7-year-old Julia Lira the "queen" of a top samba school at the coming 2010 carnival procession in the Brazilian city, The Guardian reported. Children's rights groups have argued that it is inappropriate for a child to take on the traditionally "sexy" role. A judge is considering a ban on her starring role in next week's parade.
