 可再生能源 renewable energy

為從法制上“推動開發(fā)利用可再生能源、優(yōu)化能源結構”，上海日前研究制定《上海市可再生能源條例》。“十一五”期間，上海發(fā)展可再生能源的目標是：到2010年，風力發(fā)電的規(guī)模達到20萬-30萬千瓦，光伏發(fā)電規(guī)模達到7兆-10兆瓦……

During the period, Shanghai plans to increase wind power to 200,000 or 300,000 kilowatts (kW) and photovoltaic (PV) power to seven to ten megawatts (MW); construct ten solar energy buildings yearly, develop solar water heater technology, and build garbage power-generating projects.
報道中，“可再生能源”相應的英文表達是“renewable energy”，renewable在這里指自然生態(tài)循環(huán)的“可再生”，如“renewable resource”（可再生資源）。
“Renewable”（可再生的）源于動詞“renew”（更新、修復、繼續(xù)、續(xù)借），由動詞的多個詞義可猜出，renewable除表達“可再生的”之外，還含有多個含義，現(xiàn)列舉幾個常用表達：
由“to renew the library books”（續(xù)借圖書）可得“renewable books”（可續(xù)借的書籍）；“renewable subscriptions”（可續(xù)訂的雜志）。
由“to renew a contract”（續(xù)簽合同）可得“a one-year renewable contract”（為期一年可續(xù)訂的合同）。
由“to renewed the antique furniture”（修復老式家具）可得“renewable parts”（可更新的零件）。
