Ipsos)的民意調(diào)查顯示，總統(tǒng)布什的支持率達到任期內(nèi)最低水平，66%的民眾不滿布什政府的政策，認為國家的發(fā)展令人擔憂，伊拉克、油價上漲、財政支出等一系列問題成為人們關(guān)注的焦點。外電報道如下：

lowest level of his presidency - 39 percent. While four of five
Republicans say they approve of Bush's job performance - enthusiasm in
that support has dipped over the last year.
報道中mire的意思是"陷入困境"，常和in連用。如：He was mired in
debt.（他陷入了債務(wù)困境。）Mire的本意是"陷入泥沼"，如：He mired his car and had to go for
help.（他的車陷進泥濘, 不得不請人幫忙。）此外，mire還可作名詞使用，詞組be(stick) in the
mire也可表示"陷入困境"之意。
