Sony has won a bidding war to produce an emoji-based film in a reportedly seven-figure deal, according to a report by Daily Mail.

The film will center on emojis who live in an "Emoji Valley" and show their adventure to connect with the outside world through cell phones and other apps.

Sony has not said which emoji would play the central role yet. The project will be co-written by actor and producer Eric Siegel and Kung Fu Panda director Anthony Leondis.

The film will reportedly hit the theaters in August, 2017.
