Animal rights activist faces financial reality

A Hangzhou woman has adopted 150 of 700 cats rescued by animal rights activists on June 25, in East China's Zhejiang province. Qian Fengying, who already has around 55 cats and 96 dogs in a stray animal shelter at her countryside home, has had a prefabricated refuge erected for the rescued animals. Building the shelter cost 10,000 yuan ($1,601) and treatment, sterilization and feed will be a huge burden, she said. Photo taken June 30, 2014. [Photo/CFP]
