A woman was stopped and referred to police by safety staff at Beijing Capital International Airport because her face looked very different from the photo on her ID card, Beijing Youth Daily reported on Wednesday.

The woman, surnamed Zheng, was booked on a flight from the airport when she was stopped by safety staff who said her face was too different from the photo on her ID card. Zheng explained to police she had cosmetic surgery after the ID card was issued in 2009 and had not applied for a new ID card. After investigation, police confirmed Zheng's ID card was real and reminded her and others in the same situation they should change their ID cards after major surgical changes.
