Ants foul up woman's financial plans

Updated: 2006-08-09 09:02 A woman surnamed Jiang shed sad tears when she found that white ants had seriously damaged the banknotes, valued at 2,000 yuan (US$250), that were hidden under her mat in Guangzhou of Guangdong Province on Sunday. Jiang and her husband, surnamed Tan, who both come from Hunan Province, put the money they earned from working in a local company under a mat 20 days ago. Jiang said the money should have been mailed back home to her 21-year-old daughter, who is studying in a local college, for tuition fees.
