Teenager's tall tales fail to convince police

A 13-year-old Jiangsu boy stole money from his own home and blamed it on a robber in an attempt to cheat his parents.
Zhang told police that two men broke into his home in Jurong on Sunday, beating him unconscious and making off with the family's money.
Police investigated but were not convinced by Zhang's story. The boy later admitted that he plotted the robbery himself and stole 1,700 yuan (US$210) in order to go to an Internet bar.
