Increasing numbers of newlyweds in Harbin are opting not to tie the knot during major festivals.
Many have chosen less popular dates in order to save money and enjoy preferential prices offered by some local hotels.
In the past, so many young couples had chosen auspicious dates that they were forced to share banqueting halls with other newlyweds.
