China's flagship trade-in-services fair will debut an international service promotion roadshow zone at this year's edition, organizers announced at a press conference Monday.

The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services, or CIFTIS, will gather international institutions in finance, legal affairs, accounting, intellectual property, advertising, and human resources to deliver roadshow presentations, alongside on-site services and business negotiation spaces, according to Zhao Qizhou, director of the Beijing International Trade in Services Affairs Center.

The upcoming event, set to run Sept 9-13, will feature 10 distinct exhibitions, four of which, covering telecommunications and information, sports, transportation, and business, as well as education services, will set up exclusive zones to display business services related to international expansion.

Shougang Group has been hard at work upgrading CIFTIS's soon-to-be permanent venue at Shougang Park. The location, converted from former steel production sites, is scheduled to be fully completed and delivered on Aug 15.

The 2026 CIFTIS names Norway as the guest country of honor and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region as the guest province of honor.

Norway will showcase its strengths in green energy, digital technology, home wellness, and high-end nutrition via a national pavilion.

Guangxi will exhibit its achievements in digital services, cross-border e-commerce, cultural creativity, and traditional Chinese medicine services, and host a series of supporting events.

To date, over 40 countries and international organizations, including Norway, Australia, and the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization, have confirmed participation.

More than 250 enterprises from home and abroad will attend the fair, including China Mobile, Bank of China, Tencent, COSCO Shipping, Walmart, Siemens, and Johnson & Johnson.
