Located on the southern edge of Kangbao county, the wetland park covers about 346 hectares, including 220 hectares of water. It is home to more than 140 wild plant species and 225 bird species, including 46 under national first- or second-class protection.

More than 100,000 migratory birds pass through or breed in the park each year, making it an important biodiversity hub in North China.
