She said: "In doing so, I aimed to tackle a question that is not always considered in identity design: how can a system maintain consistency without becoming too rigid?"

With the versatile system that could feel cohesive whether it appeared on a mobile screen or a street poster, Boston Book Festival feels immediate and accessible to viewers.

It has been learned that Zou also translates her collage practice into teaching.

She has facilitated workshops at 826 Boston — a Boston-based nonprofit promoting creative expression, Urban Arts that works with NYC public schools to provide courses to students, and Letterform Archive — a highly respected international archive that collects, preserves, and shares materials on graphic design and typography.

Along with teaching collage design, she has also served as a judge for youth art programs. Previously, Zou was invited to sit on the judging panel for the PTA Reflections Arts Program, and her role as a judge allows her to not only reflect on her own design practice, but promote emerging artists as well.

It has been learned that much like Zou, more young Chinese designers are finding ways to carry their creative practice beyond commercial expectations.
