China eyes healthy, stable economic cooperation with US
The Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday that China stands ready to work with the United States on the basis of equality, mutual respect and reciprocity to expand areas of cooperation. This follows candid, in-depth and constructive consultations on economic and trade issues of mutual concern held between the two sides in the Republic of Korea on Wednesday.
Speaking at a news conference in Beijing, commerce ministry spokeswoman He Yongqian said China also hopes to narrow differences with the US side and promote the healthy, stable and sustainable development of China-US economic and trade relations.
Before the talks in the ROK, China and the US held six bilateral economic and trade consultations since May 2025 in Geneva, London, Stockholm, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur and Paris, making progress in areas such as tariff reduction, supply chain coordination, export controls, market access and mechanisms for continued dialogue.
