The 47th World Congress of Vine and Wine will be held from Oct 12 to 16 in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, as announced on the official website of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).

This marks the first time since its inception in 1924 that the event is being held in Asia and specifically in China.

Hosted by OIV and the People's Government of Ningxia, the five-day event is expected to bring greater international attention to China's wine industry and to Ningxia, one of the country's leading wine-producing regions.

The event will feature building a new pattern for the global grape and wine industry, focusing on adapting to new challenges through transformation, stimulating new vitality through innovation and anchoring a new future with sustainability.

It will include four sessions covering grape planting, winemaking, economy and law and health and safety. Discussions will address the following topics: building a stable, stress-resistant and sustainable grape production development system; exploring adaptive brewing development models; building a robust legal and economic support system for development; and promoting health and sustainable social development throughout the grape wine industry chain.
