The ceasefire arrangement between Iran and the United States should help end the fighting and restore peace and stability, the Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

The Israeli army has intensified attacks across Lebanon since Wednesday, despite the ceasefire reached between US and Iran.

Iran reportedly informed Pakistani authorities that it?will not participate?in?peace talks until a ceasefire?is?established?in?Lebanon.

China calls on relevant sides to resolve disputes through political and diplomatic channels, the ministry's spokeswoman Mao Ning told a daily news conference.

She called on relevant sides to be calm, exercise restraint,?and work to deescalate tension in the region.
