As spring blossoms wash the dunes of Mingsha Mountain and the Crescent Spring Scenic Area in soft apricot hues, the peak tourism season is drawing growing crowds to Dunhuang, Gansu province. Behind the scenes, an "invisible power protection" approach is helping ensure both reliable electricity and an unspoiled landscape.
