Temporary controls on gasoline, diesel prices
The National Development and Reform Commission has announced that temporary control measures regarding retail prices of gasoline and diesel will be implemented starting on Monday, amid increases in international oil prices. The measures have been adopted to mitigate the impact of an abnormal rise in international oil prices, reduce the burden on downstream users, and ensure stable economic operation and social livelihood, the NDRC noted. Based on the existing pricing mechanism, gasoline and diesel prices would have risen by 2,205 yuan ($319.4) and 2,120 yuan per metric ton, respectively, from 24:00 on Monday. Thanks to the measures, the prices will increase by 1,160 yuan and 1,115 yuan per ton, respectively.

Westlake Robotics, a Chinese robotics company, has revealed its humanoid robot Titan o1 empowered by the company's independently developed large model General Action Expert, which can imitate human movements in real time, without limitations of time and space. Powered by this foundation model, multiple robots can perform the same tasks simultaneously under the operation of one person, the company said. Demonstrating the technology in Hangzhou, an operator dressed in a motion capture suit waved, turned and kicked a ball, with Titan o1 mirroring every move in milliseconds.
