A new restaurant concept linked to the French fashion house Dior has opened in Beijing's Sanlitun area, introducing a dining format that combines brand heritage with contemporary French cuisine.
Named Monsieur Dior, the restaurant is designed around references to the life and aesthetic of Christian Dior, whose documented interest in food and hosting informs the concept. The interior adopts a light-toned palette with decorative elements, such as artworks and floral-patterned seating, reflecting design motifs associated with the brand.
The kitchen is led by Anne-Sophie Pic, who has created a menu structured around seasonal ingredients and a series of dishes that incorporate visual and thematic references to Dior's design codes. The approach emphasizes balance in texture and flavor, alongside presentation.
Several dishes reference specific motifs. A crab and caviar course, for example, is arranged to resemble embroidery-like detailing, while Pic's berlingots — small filled pasta parcels — are adapted with a leopard-pattern concept linked to Mizza Bricard, a figure associated with the brand's history.
Desserts continue this line of interpretation. A millefeuille variation references the houndstooth pattern connected to the Miss Dior label, translating a textile motif into a plated format.
The opening reflects a broader trend of luxury brands extending into hospitality and dining, particularly in major urban markets such as Beijing, where fashion, retail and food experiences are increasingly integrated.
