Chongqing sets GDP growth target of over 5% for 2026

Chongqing, the industrial powerhouse of southwestern China, has announced a GDP growth target of over 5 percent for 2026, according to the annual session of the municipal people's congress, which commenced on Wednesday.
In the previous year, Chongqing's GDP reached 3.37 trillion yuan ($485.22 billion), reflecting a growth rate of 5.3 percent, said the city's mayor Hu Henghua, who delivered the municipal government's work report at the Chongqing Municipal People's Congress.
