Rail inspection to ensure coal supply
Chinese railway operators are intensifying rail inspections to safeguard the smooth transport of coal. As temperatures continue to drop and as weather fluctuations affect the safety of heavy-haul trains, the Chawu Engineering Section has focused on precise inspections and personnel training to strengthen flaw-detection work and safeguard the flow of coal used for electricity generation and heating in winter. Adopting a "theory+ practical operation" model, it has invited technical experts to explain the key points of flaw detection in critical sections, so as to build a strong flaw-detection team.
Rapid progress seen in HSR construction
The Nanchang-Jiujiang High-speed Railway is showing faster progress in construction, said China Railway Construction Corp's 24th bureau, which is shouldering the CJZQ-2 section of the railway. Ballastless track building for the HSR's major section was completed recently, the first on the line to hit this milestone, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent track-laying process, CR24G said. The Nanchang-Jiujiang HSR is part of the Beijing-Hong Kong (Taiwan) Corridor — a crucial component of China's national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network.
