Pakistan, Hungary Renew Scholarship Programme 2026–28

Pakistan and Hungary signed a renewed MoU to extend the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme for 2026–28. The agreement was signed by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto. The programme has been a cornerstone of educational cooperation, providing scholarships for Pakistani students at Hungarian universities.

Since its launch in 2015, the scholarship quota has grown from 200 to 400 students per year, making it Hungary’s largest allocation to any partner country. The programme covers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies, offering opportunities in diverse academic fields. Officials emphasized the importance of education in strengthening bilateral relations and socio-economic development.

The renewed agreement will broaden academic access for Pakistani students, supporting talent development and international exposure. Officials from both countries noted the programme’s role in building long-term cooperation and enhancing educational standards. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to education, development, and stronger people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Hungary.
