Typhoon Ragasa makes landfall in Yangjiang, Guangdong

Typhoon Ragasa, the 18th typhoon of this year, made landfall at about 5 pm on Wednesday along the coast of Hailing Island in Yangjiang, Guangdong province, according to local meteorological authorities.
At the time of landfall, Ragasa was classified as a typhoon with a strength of level 13. At its peak, it had reached a strength exceeding level 17.
The typhoon will continue to move in a western direction at a speed of around 20 kilometers per hour, with its intensity gradually decreasing, the Guangdong Meteorological Observatory said.
Train operations in Guangdong province will be gradually resumed starting at midnight on Thursday, as Ragasa's intensity weakens, according to China Railway Guangzhou Group.
