In 1938, wharf workers at Australia's Port Kembla launched a 10-week strike after they learned that pig iron awaiting shipment would be manufactured into weapons for Japan's invasion of China. Known as the Dalfram Dispute, this resistance demonstrated ordinary workers' bravery in opposing war and defending peace, forging a precious, shared memory of Sino-Australian resistance against fascism.
