Influencers from around globe begin discovery tour of Ningxia
In Yanchi county, Wuzhong city, the Tan sheep industry provides more than 50 percent of income for farmers. With 3.3 million sheep and a brand value exceeding 13 billion yuan ($1.8 billion), it remains a pillar industry for residents.
Cultural heritage will be another highlight of the tour. On July 11, the Western Xia Imperial Tombs near Yinchuan were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, becoming China's 60th site to be listed.
Ningxia is also an emerging digital hub, playing a key role in China's national computing network and attracting global firms to establish data centers in the region.
In the chemical sector, the region has built the world's largest single-unit coal-to-oil project, with a capacity of 4 million tons. Differentiated spandex and para-aramid fiber production technologies are also making their mark in the region.
The visit is part of a wider project organized by the State Council Information Office, which has included tours of China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Xizang autonomous region, and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. According to the office, the tours share stories of happiness and transformation in China's ethnic regions with the rest of the world.
