According to Taizhou Customs, the city's exports of electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaic products reached 1.76 billion yuan ($245.64 million) in the first half of 2025, marking a 4.7 percent year-on-year increase.

This growth reflects both global trends and local strengths. On the one hand, rising global demand for new energy vehicles driven by the push for low-carbon development has boosted international orders. On the other, increased production capacity from leading local enterprises has expanded export volumes.

The European Union is the largest market for Taizhou's trio of green products, accounting for 780 million yuan, or 44.5 percent of the total, in the first half of the year. Exports to ASEAN and India also saw significant growth, rising by 43.5 percent and 69.3 percent to 180 million yuan and 170 million yuan, respectively.

Taizhou Jolywood, a global leader in N-type PV modules, reported industrial sales of 1.48 billion yuan in the first half of 2025, with products shipped to over 60 countries and regions. "This year, we invested more than 20 million yuan in the upgrading of our PV module production line, which will increase our manufacturing capacity by 20 percent. We're confident in our export outlook for 2025," said An Chao, technical director of the company's module R&D department.

Sunpower, which specializes in high-rate lithium batteries, saw 62.27 million yuan in imports and exports from January to June, up 110 percent from the same period last year.

"We focus on brand building and have earned the trust of major international clients. With support from local authorities and platforms like the Canton Fair, we've strengthened our market presence," said Bu Zhifeng, the company's marketing director. He added that the company expects to reach a total sales revenue of 2.1 billion yuan this year.
