Xi'an will launch the China-Central Asia cultural tourism special train (Xi'an-Almaty) on May 29, aiming to deepen connectivity between China and Central Asian countries and open up new channels for cultural exchanges.
The launch event will be organized by the Xi'an municipal people's government and the Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission under the guidance of multiple state ministries and enterprises.
After the train's arrival in Almaty, the Xi'an-Almaty Cultural Tourism Exchange Week will kick off. Various cultural activities will be held, including demonstrations of intangible cultural heritage, exhibitions of cultural relics, interactive experiences in sports culture, and promotions of traditional Chinese medicine culture.
Professional activities, such as cultural exhibitions, academic exchanges, and Silk Road-themed lectures, will provide an exchange platform for scholars. Special activities, including youth football matches, sports symposia, and symposia for women entrepreneurs, will promote exchanges and cooperation between the two regions.
The special train will help accelerate the creation of a unique Silk Road cultural tourism brand, assist Shaanxi province in shaping a new pattern of opening-up, and deepen cooperation between China and Central Asian countries.
