China's top court to air short legal drama
The Glory of The Judge, a short drama produced by the Supreme People's Court General Office and the Shandong Provincial Radio and Television Administration, will air from Friday, the SPC announced on Wednesday.
The five-episode series, each lasting 10 minutes, follows Lin Zihan, a young college graduate who assists veteran judge Zhang Zhimin in handling cases that impact villagers' rights and interests in rural areas, the SPC said.
The drama depicts five legal disputes, including cases on property rights, elder care, child custody, counterfeit cigarette sales, and women's rights protection—issues of growing concern in rural communities.
Co-produced with the Shandong High People's Court, the series aims to showcase judicial work and enhance public legal awareness, according to the SPC. Production has been completed, and the drama will premiere on Friday on multiple video-sharing platforms, including Hongguo and Douyin. It will also be broadcast on television.
