Freight train becomes key link between China, Europe
Efforts underlying the operation
The smooth, efficient, and stable operation of the China-Europe freight train is the result of the dedication of many individuals. Zhang Wei, from the Shanghai office of China Railway Container Transport, said: "To enhance service efficiency, we have collaborated closely with various departments to ensure trains depart on schedule and maintain punctuality."
"We have also bolstered communication and coordination with customs, establishing streamlined customs clearance procedures," he added, highlighting that the implementation of expedited customs clearance in 2022 has significantly reduced the clearance time for goods.
Huang Wei, a driver with the China Railway Shanghai Group operating China-Europe freight trains, emphasized his focus on ensuring the smooth and safe operation of each train, with ongoing enhancements in vehicle inspections and compliance with regulations.
"The China-Europe freight train has created business opportunities for tens of thousands of enterprises in China and abroad, while providing affordable goods to millions of people along its route," said Li Chao from NDRC.
He further emphasized that China remains committed to promoting the secure, stable, and high-quality development of the China-Europe freight train service.
"The commencement of the 100,000th train is just the beginning. The China-Europe freight train service will continue to improve and evolve," he said.
