PLA organizes routing training near Huangyan Island

The People's Liberation Army said on Sunday morning that it conducted routine training activities near Huangyan Island in the South China Sea on Sunday.
In a statement released on Sunday, the PLA Southern Theater Command said that the command organized naval and aerial forces were to conduct routine training activities including reconnaissance, early warning, and maritime and aerial patrols in the sea and airspace near China's Huangyan Island.
"Some countries outside the region are causing trouble in the South China Sea, creating instability in the region," the statement said.
China has indisputable sovereignty over Huangyan Island and its surrounding waters, it said.
The troops of the theater command remain highly vigilant, resolutely defending national sovereignty, security, and maritime rights and interests, and firmly maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea, the statement said.
